Search the Ship..

I have been waiting a long time to buy this set discounted. Passed on 2 opportunities cause I felt 40-50$ off still wasn’t enough of a discount. However during November’s 2X VIP weekend I saw this was available at full price, however I could snag 3x GWP.. including the Solo Carbonite Metal Keychain which I missed previously. Also scored the Dickens set and the Teal Brick GWP’s. 


Given the rampant rise in value on Gift with Purchase sets on the secondary market I figure these 3 sets more than make up for the wanted discounts. The day it arrived (I picked it up from Fedex) it was actually discounted about $50 on Lego Canada.. (and elsewhere) but I feel I got a better deal with 3 GWP. Certainly getting the Metal Keychain I had missed previously.. and coincidently didn't really want. But after seeing it get flipped for outrageous rates I figured why not? :)

It's a Me, Mario..


Ordered this from Amazon Canada at $20 off. Didn’t have a lot of interest when originally released but now that I own the NES set (which the Mario can interact with) and I have the Super Mario CMF series buying this all of a sudden became a no brained when it showed up discounted across most retail at the same time in Canada.

Who are you gonna call?

Last week I added the Lego Ghostbuster Ecto-1 set to the collection.. a beautiful set.

The set is based on a 1959 Cadillac Ambulance/Hearse, but not the one from the original movies. This is based on the car as seen in the delayed 2020 Ghostbusters Afterlife Movie

11 hours later..

 It took me 11 hours over 2 days to finish this puzzle. I admit I’m not a puzzle freak.. but I did totally underestimate this puzzle and the time it would take me to tackle it..

Jumbo Pokemon added to the collection..

Purchased a Jumbo Pikachu set 2 years ago while on vacation in the States during a 10 day road trip fro Toronto to New Brunswich to Maine to Vermont and then back to Toronto. Loved it, but it wasn't perfect and I had to come up with a creative fix for a flawed design for the head support in the neck of the set. Liked the set enough that I vowed if Mega Construx ever produced another set in this scale I'd buy it. 

I've been waiting for 2-3 months for this Jumbo Eevee. Not sure if I'm impressed by the design, I've never been a fan of this pokemon. Definitely others I'd rather have before an Eevee. I've passed on this set at least twice so far while I was hunting the Mega Construx Halo Helmet set. But then I clued into the fact this set like most of the Mega sets were currently 25% off and jumped to pick this up.

I'm also interested to see if I'll need to fix this set like the previous jumbo set.

Lego.. Marvel.. SDCC Exclusive.. YES!!

With the Comic Con type shows dead this year it was a new opportunity to get sets normally only available on Ebay this year. Most CON or Show exclusives were made available instead via Lego and/or Amazon websites this year. Which pisses off the world wide Lego community to no end. 

Keep in mind that the world wide community would normally be limited to Ebay to get these sets. Lego in their infinite (sic) wisdom made them available to US (and in some other cases North America as a whole) online. 

So midnight rolls around and everyone hammers the respective sites until they score as many of these as possible.. 1 to keep and 14 dozen to Ebay. (that's only a half joke as many ebayers and their BOTS scooped a huge chunk of them. I know because I made a deal with the devil to score some prior to their ensuing Ebay posts.  

77905, presumably based on the now delayed Black Widow Marvel Film.. is another well packaged SDCC set. glad to have it and will shortly sell some to finance my daughters college fund or the Nasa Space program..

1000 pc Lego puzzle..


Thinking I’ll build this tonight on a live stream. Stay tuned.
Waited 6 long months for this set.. originally ordered early in the pandemic while puzzles were all the rage in my family circles. Bet over 100 puzzles have been done by various family members.
Saw this one and figured finally something I might be interested in. Saw it go up for preorder. Then the waiting game and delays. Worse, I saw it appear in local stores before amazon had stock of it.
Arrived this week. Showed it off last night online. Thinking this could be cool to build later tonight live.

Sluban Sunday Streams.. sweet..

 I had a pleasant afternoon building the 2 review sets sent to me a


few weeks ago from Sluban North-America. I decided to break the stream up into a pt1 and pt2 and breaked for Lunch. 

So far I'm impressed.. and I'll have more to say on this during the official reviews I'll produce on these in the coming week.
